The Camera Heritage Museum is a small Virginia museum showcasing film cameras, their history, and their photographers. The goal of this rebrand was to modernize the branding and draw in a new audience without isolating their existing visitors.
Concept
The big idea behind this rebrand is taking the iconic look of a film strip and transforming it into a modern logo and a creative layout system.
The film strip was simplified into a bold shape, which was adapted into a font, layout system, and logo.
Marketing
The marketing materials feature the film strip "H" turned into a layout system with titles, logos, and information in the cross bars and photographs in the negative space. Larger, abstract renditions of the shapes were used in the stationery design, and the logo itself made for clean, bold merchandise.

Original Iconography
An icon system to help guests navigate the museum was designed utilizing the 45-degree angles and flat points used in the brand's film strip-inspired logo, font, and layout system. The repetition of elements creates a cohesive, recognizable look throughout the entire museum and all branding materials.
Brand Guidelines
Below are featured pages of the brand guidelines book. The design of the book prominently features the film-inspired font and a layout system utilizing the same elements. It details key elements and rules of the brand while providing an array of usage examples to ensure cohesive media creation.
