Shawmut Corporation, a materials manufacturing company, faced the challenge of making intricately patterned fabrics stand out to high-end automotive manufacturers. The subtle craftsmanship of these materials was difficult to communicate through traditional presentation methods due to their small scale.
To address this, I used my expertise in photography and 3D image creation to highlight the bold details, textures, and construction of the fabrics. By translating microscopic craftsmanship into visually compelling imagery, I helped position Shawmut’s materials as premium, innovative, and worthy of luxury automotive interiors.
3D Modeling, Rendering, and Animation
Shawmut needed a way to show customers how their custom materials would look in real automotive interiors without the time and cost associated with producing physical samples.
I addressed this challenge using advanced texturing techniques to accurately apply Shawmut’s materials to digital automotive interiors. This approach created visually compelling assets for client presentations while significantly reducing production and shipping costs. It also allowed Shawmut to quickly showcase multiple colorways, patterns, and special effects digitally. This increased flexibility and speed in both the design and approval process.
Photography
Shawmut’s materials are defined by subtle details that are often lost in traditional photography. The challenge was to make texture, color, and craftsmanship immediately visible and compelling.
Using close-up photography, I captured bold, high-detail imagery that brings each material to life by highlighting pattern, depth, and construction. These images now serve as the visual backbone of Shawmut Corporation’s marketing, showcasing material quality via striking, attention-grabbing visuals.
